When you compare him to other key political figures in parliament: Cameron, Clegg, Hague, Straw – he just doesn’t seem to have the potential to lead a country as much as irritate them.

And the Labour Party knew it.

Have the trade unions hurt their own cause by managing losing the next election 4 years in advance?
